Camelot Vineyards is a family owned and operated Estate winery. We hand pick and hand sort each variety to ensure only the best quality grapes are used in all of our wines. Our wines are produced in small lots to ensure optimum quality. Camelot's resident winemaker, Robert Young, has created some beautiful, fruit forward vintages that reflect the unique terroir of the East Kelowna Bench.
Nestled between McIntyre and Eagle Bluffs, near the southern shore of Vaseux Lake, our 7.5 acre vineyard has grown five carefully-tended varietals since 1997: Pinot Gris, Pinot Noir, Merlot, Chardonnay, and Riesling. We are a mother-daughter team committed to creating small-lot, handcrafted estate wines. Hope you like them!
I believe that each bottle of wine should communicate something distinct, something unique about the region it comes from. It's this dedication to craft and subtlety which has quickly made our red and white wines some of the most celebrated on the Golden Mile Bench - the finest grape growing region in Canada nestled in the Okanagan Valley.
Castoro de Oro Estate Winery’s name and label pays homage to its vineyard’s terroir and the founding of Canada. The 35-year-old (planted in 1980), eight-acre vineyard is located on the Golden Mile and blessed with a unique soil combination and a small lake located at the base of it. This terroir provides an ideal foundation for growing superior grapes and a longer growing season than many other Golden Mile vineyards. Beavers helped to create the small lake during their manipulation of earth and water. And early settlers’ search for gold led to the beavers’ vast contribution to the history of the nation; the then-booming fashion industry’s need for beaver felt and fur ultimately allowed settlers to thrive, formally establish the country, and choose the beaver as Canada’s national animal. Now, deservedly so, the dapper mascot appears on every old-photograph styled label. With a hands-on approach, owners Stella Schmidt and Bruno Kelle facilitate every step of the process, from grape to glass. Featured wines include rosé, white blends Heart of Gold and Heartbreaker, a bold red blend Crimson Rhapsody, pure varieties of white and red wines and a unique style of dessert wine. All of the wines are –always made in small batches from pure South Okanagan, British Colombia grapes. Castoro de Oro welcomes both children and pets to its fun, cozy atmosphere.
Purchased in 1986, CedarCreek released its first wines in 1987 and was one of the first 8 pioneering wineries of BC. With four generations of agricultural heritage and more than a quarter century of experience, we have pursued perfection and produced some of the valley's best wines resulting in CedarCreek being twice recognized as "Canada's Winery of the Year". Today, we look proudly towards the future to further promote our region. At CedarCreek the hybrid grapes gave way to new plantings of vinifera vines, the small basement cellar was transformed into state of the art winemaking facilities and the very best in viticulture was applied. This pioneering was tempered by patience and perseverance which became his mantra. These ideals matured into CedarCreek's philosophy: "Respect the land, honour tradition, pursue perfection." In February of 2014 the Fitzpatrick family announced the transfer of ownership of CedarCreek Estate Winery to the von Mandl Family. With this, two of the region’s pioneering winemaking families have come together with a shared vision for the Okanagan Valley, one that will continue the Fitzpatrick family legacy for generations to come. Our knowledge of the terroir of the Okanagan and dedication to the craft have brought many awards and international acclaim, to our winery and our region. We are committed to building on our success by continuing to refine our approach to wine growing. Passion, tenacity, care and hard work are vital but above all we seek truth in wine. On that, you have our word.
