Okanagan Valley Wineries
Sleeping Giant Fruit Winery was established in 2008 by its parent company Summerland Sweets Ltd. Summerland Sweets is a family owned and operated business with roots in the food processing industry since the 1950’s. At Sleeping Giant we use classic winemaking techniques to produce seventeen off-dry table wines and nine late-harvest style dessert wines. BC grown fruit provides the foundation for our wine portfolio, which offers many delightful taste sensations. We have a gift shop and tasting room and are open year round.
Ann Sperling brings 25 years of international winemaking experience home to the vineyard she grew up on. Combining love and labour with the blessing of Okanagan sunshine, Ann takes pride in crafting elegant wines of character from the Sperling family estate and continues a cherished tradition begun by her great grandparents over 150 years ago. Come and walk in our one-of-a-kind vineyard labyrinth.
SpierHead Winery sits at the top of Spiers Road on the benchlands of South East Kelowna. The 15 acre estate vineyard consists of three blocks, each with its own topography, aspect, and microclimate. Pinot noir is SpierHead’s focus and this varietal makes up 80% of the vines on the estate vineyard. In addition, by sourcing grapes from other premium vineyards in the central Okanagan, we are able to craft more complex wines. The hand harvested grapes are sorted at the winery and fermented and aged in small lots. The white wines are aged primarily in stainless steel tanks and the pinot noir spends 10 months in French oak barrels. The sunny, yellow winery includes a tasting room for samples and sales, a picnic patio, and a newly developed reception area for family, corporate and social events. SpierHead has an offsite presence as well, including online sales and an enthusiastic wine club. Our wines can also be found in numerous restaurants and private wine stores in British Columbia. The foundation of St Hubertus & Oak Bay Family Estate Winery is our strong belief in family, healthy sustainable vineyards and great wines. For over 30 years the Gebert families have tended the original Hughes Vineyard which was among the first Okanagan grape plantings in 1928. The families produce 100% estate grown wines that reflect the terroir of the North Okanagan Valley.
Stag’s Hollow produces some of BC’s highest quality, most distinctive wines. The philosophy at Stag's Hollow is to express the terroir of the Okanagan using sustainable vineyard practices with minimal winemaking intervention. Always innovative, with a spirit to be unique , the winery has planted varietals not commonly grow in the Okanagan. These include Tempranillo and Albarino from Spain, Grenache and Marsanne from the Rhone Valley and Dolcetto from Italy. These unique varietals offer a new experience for Okanagan Wine lovers.
