Over fifty years ago, a Hungarian immigrant named Andrew Peller opened a modest winery in Canada's west coast province of British Columbia. He situated his vineyards in the Okanagan Valley, where he planted the roots of a dream: a dream to offer Canadians world class wines that were proudly produced from Canadian grown grapes. He realized that dream and now fifty years later, Andrew Peller is considered a pioneer in the successful Canadian wine industry.

Our winery uses only our estate grown organic Pinot Noir grapes for our Pinot vintages. We only produce 500 cases of wine annually from handpicked and hand sorted premium French clones. We make classic cool climate Okanagan Pinot Noirs with as little intervention as possible. Our wines are made in small lots. Just off the shores of Okanagan Lake south of Kelowna, nestled in Okanagan Mountain Park, is a small vineyard called Scorched Earth Vineyard. Replanted after the 2003 wildfires with 4 single lot French clones of Pinot Noir grapes. Different rootstocks were chosen for our varying soil conditions. We are an Organic Vineyard practicing sustainable organic viticulture. Our location provides us with the best the Okanagan has to offer such as a great south-west exposure providing lots of sun. The vineyard slopes down to Okanagan Lake, providing great air flow and a cooling effect for our vines.
Ann Sperling brings 25 years of international winemaking experience home to the vineyard she grew up on. SpierHead Winery sits at the top of Spiers Road on the benchlands of South East Kelowna. The 15 acre estate vineyard consists of three blocks, each with its own topography, aspect, and microclimate. Pinot noir is SpierHead’s focus and this varietal makes up 80% of the vines on the estate vineyard. In addition, by sourcing grapes from other premium vineyards in the central Okanagan, we are able to craft more complex wines. The hand harvested grapes are sorted at the winery and fermented and aged in small lots. The white wines are aged primarily in stainless steel tanks and the pinot noir spends 10 months in French oak barrels. The sunny, yellow winery includes a tasting room for samples and sales, a picnic patio, and a newly developed reception area for family, corporate and social events. SpierHead has an offsite presence as well, including online sales and an enthusiastic wine club. Our wines can also be found in numerous restaurants and private wine stores in British Columbia. Please browse the website at spierheadwinery.com for more information and details.
The foundation of St Hubertus & Oak Bay Family Estate Winery is our strong belief in family, healthy sustainable vineyards and great wines. For over 30 years the Gebert families have tended the original Hughes Vineyard which was among the first Okanagan grape plantings in 1928. The families produce 100% estate grown wines that reflect the terroir of the North Okanagan Valley.
